The need to memorize new words is one of the main difficulties in learning a foreign language. The audio trainer offered by us will be useful for people who do not have time for classes, but spend part of their life behind the wheel.
How many foreign words do you need to know to communicate on the street, in a store? It turns out not that much! Despite the fact that every language contains a huge number of words, not all of them are used with the same frequency. If you know a certain number of high-frequency words, then you can easily explain and understand a foreign speech. A total of forty correctly chosen words correspond to about half of the word usage in everyday speech. And 800-1000 of these «correct» words will allow you to understand or say about 95% of what is needed when communicating in everyday life. This simulator is designed for just such a level.
In the late 1920s, English writer and linguist Charles Kay Ogden created an international artificial language, Basic English, based on 850 words of English. It is Ogden’s dictionary and his proposed division of words into groups that form the basis of our audio trainer.
To facilitate memorization, the material is divided into sections of 50 words. Each word is accompanied by a translation into Russian. Do not forget that almost every English word has several meanings, often referring to different parts of speech. We only list the most commonly used options.
For consolidation and activation at the end of each section, a reverse translation from Russian into English is offered.
To listen to an audiobook from an arbitrary place, the entire phonogram is divided into fragments.
Each section contains two parts: the first is the translation of words from English into Russian, the second is the development of translation from Russian into English.
A complete list of words with translation into Russian is presented in the text.zip file
