Dostoevsky’s story, «A stranger’s wife and husband under the bed», was written by him at the beginning of his literary journey. It is rather difficult to guess the future author of the «Great Pentateuch», before us is the «cheerful» Dostoevsky, who reveals the talent of a satirist and humorist, who later, in separate sparks, will appear in his famous novels.
“- Do me a favor, sir, let me ask you … The passer-by shuddered and looked somewhat in fright at the gentleman in raccoons, who approached him so bluntly, at eight o’clock in the evening, in the middle of the street. And it is known that if one Petersburg gentleman suddenly starts talking on the street about something with another, completely unfamiliar gentleman, then the other gentleman will certainly be frightened … »
