In the now distant 1970, two typed copies of the poem «Moscow-Petushki» by the thirty-year-old Venedikt Erofeev were published. First, “all of Moscow” read it, then the provinces, and then the whole world. The popularity of the book caught Venedikt Erofeev by surprise. By his own admission, he wrote a poem for several friends, so that they could laugh for a few pages, and be sad and pondered a little.
The plot of the poem is simple. The main character travels by train from Moscow to Petushki.
In each chapter, the author describes what happens to him while traveling from one station to another. Considering that during the whole trip the hero kisses the bottle, it is not surprising that in the end he does not reach Petushki station.

Whatever happens to my country, in the days of doubt, in the days of painful meditation, in the time of any trials and disasters — these eyes will not blink. They are all God’s dew … «
