Fannie Flagg is an American actress, screenwriter, and writer. As a screenwriter, she was nominated for an Oscar for the film based on her own novel of the same name, Fried Green Tomatoes (1991).
In a recent interview, Fannie Flagg stated that the novel «What the whole city is talking about» will be the last in her writing career. In this book, she tells the story of a small American town: from its foundation to the present day. The wonderful storyteller Fannie Flagg has created a whole world inhabited by ordinary people, but so cozy and charming that the reader involuntarily begins to want to move into it. The new novel can be called a guide to the work of Fannie Flagg, it brings together characters from many of her books — from «Fried Green Tomatoes» to «There are only girls at the gas station.» This is a gift for everyone who agrees with Fanny’s dictum: «Life is a gift, and love is immortal.»
From an interview with the author: “It was interesting for me to write the history of a small town, such a typical small American town. I wanted to trace its history from its founding to the future, because in many ways it is the history of America itself. «
Press about the book:
