The meeting with other civilizations turned out to be discouraging: the earthlings were late — the Galaxy was already divided between the Strong races, while the other, younger ones, were assigned the role of cogs in this complex and at the same time simple structure of the interstellar community — they can only do what they do better than others, and do not aim for more. And people are forced to come to terms with the fate of space cabs (after all, only they can survive the moment of the jump — an instant jump at a distance of several light years). However, will humanity be satisfied with the trade in space trinkets — or will it still try to find its own path and stand on a par with the Strong? ..
