More info The official history of the car goes back over 100 years. It contains many interesting pages: bold conceptual and design solutions, findings of designers and bodybuilders, sports and executive cars, the most prestigious crews of all time and truly popular cars. The appearance of most modern cars is largely determined by the masterpieces of the automotive industry — supercars. It is not easy to give a universal definition of a supercar, which establishes clear relationships between such parameters as high power, high speed and stunning appearance. Until the early 1980s. a car capable of a top speed of 160 mph (257.4 km / h) or with an engine power of 400 hp was considered something very special. Nowadays, the boundaries between high-end touring models and supercars, which were once obvious, are gradually blurring. The beginning of our century has been marked by rapid changes in the automotive industry. This is not only the emergence of new manufacturers of supercars capable of creating serious competition for the former eminent firms, but also a general «raising the bar». The presence of modern electronic controls for the engine and other units provides supercars with environmental friendliness, significant traction at low speeds and full control over the entire rev range. The onset of the XXI century. was marked by such a phenomenon as the emergence of a practical and affordable supercar. Cars with a station wagon have already been produced, hiding 500 «horses» under the hood and squeezing out almost 300 km / h, with an acceleration from zero to 100 km / h in about five seconds. Supercars have become much more comfortable to drive and much better designed than their predecessors.
