About the product The central place in the book is occupied by the study of the same name by Ilya Vasiliev and Nikolai Svanidze, which answers the question: why the heroic uprising in the Nazi death camp Sobibor for almost 70 years did not receive due recognition in the Soviet Union, in post-Soviet Russia and the rest of the world. Using a large amount of factual material, the authors trace the history of oblivion and recognition of the feat of the Sobibors from 1943 to the present day. In addition, the collection includes a previously unpublished manuscript of the memoirs of Alexander Pechersky, Mark Geilikman’s poem «Luke», which gave rise to an international project to perpetuate the memory of the heroes of Sobibor, as well as a number of essays by Russian and foreign political and public figures, writers, actors, offering their answers the personality of Alexander Pechersky and what happened on October 14, 1943 in the Sobibor extermination camp.
